Ian and his twin brother Ryan have attended Stepping Stones programs for 15 of their 26 years. “Ian really loves arts and crafts,” says his mother Bernice. And Ryan loves musical programs. “Any kind of music,” she says. “he loves to listen to it.” Both of them enjoy the outdoors at Stepping Stones Allyn site. And Ian especially loves interacting with the staff. They are both non-verbal, explains Bernice, “but they still let you know what they are thinking with their smiles, facial and hand gestures.”

Are they smiling when it’s time to go to a weekend respite at Stepping Stones? “Oh yes,” says their mom.

It’s that time of year when many people make charitable contributions. We hope you will consider Stepping Stones this year, so we can make more smiles in 2014.

We kicked off our end of the year appeal this week. This year we have a challenging goal–$100,000. With your help, we can make it to our goal by the end of the year.
