On Wednesday, November 21st, Stepping Stones' programs celebrated Thanksgiving together at two holiday feasts. Our Step-Up students enjoyed a fried chicken meal at our Given Campus and our three Adult Day program locations came together for a Thanksgiving luncheon at the Norwood UCP Campus. In addition to sharing a fabulous meal together, everyone was able to celebrate what they're most thankful for in 2018 and enjoy time together.
Our Fall Saturday Clubs are off to a fabulous start, and our October 20 Halloween Fest was a rockin’ good time for all! Creative costumes were everywhere, with a big focus on food, from life-size hotdogs to fried eggs, pizza and even an avocado! Thanks to our awesome volunteers, who made the day extra-special for everyone.
Early October marked the end of Indian Summer weather and the arrival Stepping Stones’ annual Fishing Derby held at our Given Road campus. This year’s event held October 6 brought lots of sunshine and sultry temperatures, encouraging contestants to trade sweatshirts and long pants for T-shirts and shorts. Families enjoyed a beautiful day of fall fishing, along with cash prizes for biggest catch and many tempting raffle baskets. The event raised more than $1,600 for Stepping Stones’ Adult Day Services program, serving adults with disabilities at the agency’s Batavia, Monfort Heights and Norwood locations.
The Cincinnati Beard Barons hosted the Big Whisker Revival to benefit Stepping Stones and The Barracks Project.
The two-day event kicked off October 12 with a classic car show at Frisch's Mainliner. On Saturday night, guests came to Southgate House Revival in Newport, Kentucky to enjoy live music, pizza, a large raffle and the Beard Barons' famous Beard & Mustache competition.
