The Allyn Campus is preparing for a busy summer, with a nine-week Day Camp program (ages 5-22) and seven Overnight Residential Camps (ages 12+) on the calendar. Last year, 500 individuals with disabilities attended summer programs at Allyn and we are anxious to reunite with these old friends and welcome new faces!

This summer, Day Camp Allyn will enjoy a brand new playground, funded by the Hatton Foundation and installed by volunteers of PUSH America. This playground meets a need of our growing day camp program and includes climbing equipment, a balance beam, and 3 new slides – including a double slide. Each week, camp activities will focus on a unique theme, ranging from ‘Sports of All Sorts’ and ‘Masterpiece Mania’, to ‘CSI: Cool Science Investigation.’ On Fridays, participants will take part in large camp-wide events celebrating the week’s theme and head into the weekend on a high note!

Overnight Getaways will give participants experiences from around the world, in seven 4-12 day sessions exploring international food and cultures. The popular balloon rides, funded by the Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati, will return to bring the ultimate experience to our participants: flying high in the sky! These Getaways provide a fun and social environment where participants build independent living skills and give families/caregivers a much-needed break. Many look forward to their stay at the Allyn Campus as the best vacation of the year. We are always developing new and exciting experiences for our guests such as the upcoming performance of  A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Marjorie Book players. The popular skill-building classes of our Weekend Respite program will continue in Overnight Getaways to give a wide variety of activity choices. Participants choose their own schedule and cultivate a new skill during their stay. We love to help participants thrive!

“Seeing our participants achieve new goals, make new friends and truly be themselves every day is rewarding,” says Amanda Dotson, Coordinator of Recreation & Leisure are the Allyn Campus. “We’re very excited about the direction our programs are headed. Our staff, volunteers and participants are benefiting greatly from our summer programs’ continued growth.”

The Allyn Campus has two lakes for fishing/boating, accessible hiking trails, a swimming pool, 5 accessible sleeping lodges, on-site nurses, a commercial kitchen,  professionally staffed and equipped to accommodate special dietary needs.
