What We Do:

Stepping Stones works creatively to fill gaps and meet unmet needs for programs serving children, teens and adults with disabilities. This has been the hallmark of the agency since its inception as Greater Cincinnati’s first summer camp for children with disabilities in 1963.

Since, Stepping Stones has continued helping people with disabilities find pathways to independence that improve their lives and enable them to be more fully participating members of their communities. Individuals of all ages and their families come to Stepping Stones year-round for fun, friends, learning new skills, enjoying the outdoors, sports, respite and to find a caring community.

Our Team:

Our summer staff team is a group of enthusiastic individuals who strive to make a difference! Some come from a background of special education, social work or therapeutic recreation. Others have little to no previous experience working with individuals with disabilities – and that’s okay. We will train you on everything you need to know to perform your role well.

Summer staff members are responsible for creating lasting memories, encouraging inclusion and engaging participants in adaptive activities. Our team is comprised of compassionate counselors who assist with lifting, repositioning, meals and all other personal care needs. Through hands-on trainings and connections, the skills you learn at Stepping Stones will help you navigate life.
