Stepping Stones’ Summer Camp for individuals with disabilities was founded in 1963 as the first of its kind in Southwest Ohio. Today, our tradition of creating memorable summer experiences that build independence continues.

With COVID-19 modifications in place, registration for the summer 2021 season is now open!

START PLANNING YOUR SUMMER ADVENTURE

Stepping Stones’ summer programs provide an inclusive, encouraging environment where individuals with disabilities find adventure! Our 9-week summer season runs from early June into August at two scenic Greater Cincinnati locations. Program activities include outdoor favorites like fishing, nature and swimming as well as art, music and sensory.

At Stepping Stones, we pride ourselves in celebrating everyone’s abilities! All program activities are adaptable to suit each individual’s personal talents. Our staff is highly trained and each location has an on-site licensed or med-certified nurse.

For the 2021 season, we will be operating day and overnight summer programs at two locations. Learn more about these programs, below!


SUMMER OVERNIGHT STAYCATIONS (ALLYN CAMPUS)
AGES 16 – 65

Stepping Stones popular Summer Overnight Staycation program invites participants 16 to 65 with disabilities for a 5-day stay at our Camp Allyn location in Batavia. With 47 acres, this scenic property is the perfect setting for an adventurous summer retreat! Participants will check-in on Sunday, enjoying a variety of recreation activities with a closed, small group through check-out Thursday afternoon. 

LOCATION: Allyn Campus — 1414 Lake Allyn, Batavia, Ohio 45103
OPERATING: Nine 5-day sessions, running June 7 through August 6
PROGRAM TIMES: Sunday at 1 pm through Thursday at 4 pm. Pick-up and drop-off times will be staggered with specific time slots assigned upon enrollment.
COST: $700 per session

COVID-19 MODIFICATIONS: Stepping Stones has worked with state and local officials to modify our program structure as well as closely follow all guidelines from the CDC and Dept. of Health. For more information, please review information on necessary program changes at this time:

PROGRAM INCLUDES:

  • Highly trained staff
  • On-site licensed or med-certified nurses, 7 am – 10 pm
  • 4 Accessible, sleeping cabins
  • Standard staffing ratio of 4:1. (No 1:1 spots available)
  • Accessible hiking trails
  • Archery range
  • Two lakes for fishing activities
  • Outdoor swimming pool
  • Commercial kitchen, professionally staffed and equipped to accommodate special dietary needs


SUMMER DAY CAMP (GIVEN CAMPUS)
AGES 5 – 22

Stepping Stones’ Summer Day Camp invites children and teens for summer fun at our 23-acre Given Campus in Indian Hill! The 2021 season will kick off June 7 and runs weekdays through August 6, with three separate three-week sessions available. Campers will bond with their group while enjoying popular summer activities such as swimming and fishing as well as creative favorites like art and music. 

LOCATION: Given Campus – 5650 Given Road, Cincinnati, OH 45243
OPERATING: Weekdays, June 7 – August 6, 2021 (No camp on July 5)
COST: $53 per day

PROGRAM DATES:
  • SESSION 1: June 7 – June 25, attending Monday through Friday
  • SESSION 2: June 28 – July 16, attending Monday through Friday
  • SESSION 3: July 19 – August 6, attending Monday/Wednesday/Friday OR Tuesday/Thursday
    PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF TIMES:
    • Ages 5 -12: Drop-off will be at 9:00 am and Pick-Up will be at 3:00 pm
    • Ages 13 – 22: Drop-off will be at 9:15 am and Pick-Up will be at 3:15 pm
