Ringing in the New Season of Respites!!!

We had a pretty awesome start to the 2015 respite season! Our first Respite of the season was January 16-18!

We decided to go back to our roots and celebrate the first respite with a Cincinnati Theme! Our activities drew inspiration from all that makes Cincinnati awesome–We celebrated our home town with super fun events like:

Mis(ter) Congeniality: a contestant was chosen from each lodge to represent the lodges’ Cincinnati Pride. The lodges had to work together to design a formal evening gown out of the supplies readily available that would survive a cat walk. The contestants had to showcase their tremendous talent as well as answer some tough questions in the interview portion! The judges scored based on creativity & durability of the evening gown, the presentation of their talent and the answers in the interview portion. The night’s winner was deemed to be Willow Lodge!

Taste of Cincinnati: each lodge had to choose what sort of classic Cincinnati chili dish to make and throw a spin on it. The Ladies went for the classic chili chip dip, adding in cream cheese and a load of special spices. The gentlemen went for the classic cony adding in their own special flair. The judges collaborated to score based on taste and presentation. It was a close call, but the gentlemen scraped by with the win in a 39-35 victory.

Thanks for checking in and reading up on what Respites have been up to! The month of February will bring us some great events with a super delicious and sporty ‘Super Bowl Shenanigans’ Respite and our ‘I <3 Stepping Stones’ Respite.
