Sensory Needs 2015
Date posted: October 22, 2015
Hey Everybody! The leaves are already changing and gearing up for the fall–so we are too!
Our first set of sensory respites has already flown by and it has seriously been such a blast getting to see everyone again.
This year in Sensory Needs Respites we are going to be focusing on incorporating activities of daily living into our schedule as well as have program times devoted to group style activities!
This first round of respites, all of our sensory needs respite participants kicked off the activities daily living skills by doing laundry! Not only did they get to work on their skills but they actually had a lot of fun and a great time bonding with their 1:1 staff.
The group style activity we did this round was making our own personal trail mix. We had honey roasted granola and each participants could choose from other fun additions such as peanuts, chocolate chips, raisins, dried cranberries, dried apples and banana chips. This activity was not only delicious but we got to learn about nutrition and work on our measuring skills!
Until next time!
