Adult Day Program Hosts Scarecrow Contest

At our UCP Campus in Norwood, adults stretched their creativity and organizational skills in the 2nd annual Scarecrow Contest! Partnering with the community, participants asked local businesses to sponsor a scarecrow to be uniquely designed to represent each store.
Working together, participants developed creative design concepts for each scarecrow and organized shopping lists. On community outings, groups visited thrift shops and other stores to gather clothing and the needed materials to bring their scarecrow visions to life!
With such a great selection of scarecrows, the competition was steep! To help in deciding on a winner, Stepping Stones held an online poll for families and the community to vote on their favorite scarecrow. It was a very close race, but the final results of the 2016 Scarecrow Contest are:
1st Place: Chipotle
2nd Place: Kroger
3rd Place: Huber Lumber
Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s scarecrow contest by voting and to all of the businesses who joined us as a sponsor. The participating businesses include: Quatman’s Cafe, Pest-All Exterminating and Norwood locations of Kroger, Chipotle, Pizza Hut and CVS.
Sponsored by the Surrey Square location of Chipotle, the Chipotle Scarecrow features delicious sides of guacamole and salsa, an array of tortilla chips (for dipping) and even a tortilla chip crown.

Sponsored by the Norwood Kroger, this mother/daughter shopping duo are hitting the grocery store hard this season in preparation for Thanksgiving dinner.

Dr. Martin is a graduate of University of Cincinnati and works in the pharmacy at the Norwood CVS.

This year, the Norwood Fire Department worked together to design their own fireman. He’s committed to keeping the community safe!
