Stepping Stones Hosts 1st Sporting Clays Tournament

Stepping Stones invites you to the first Sporting Clays Tournament! Co-chaired by Peter Borchers and Brian Folke, the event will be held on Friday, April 28th at the renowned Elk Creek Hunt Club and Sporting Clays Resort in Owenton, Kentucky.
Both new and experienced shooters will love this fun event! Hit the course for a 14-station clay shoot with 100 targets and take part in an exciting Beat-the-Pro challenge. Then, join us back at the lodge to relax with bites, drinks and award and prize winner announcements. It will be a beautiful day in the great outdoors, with food by local favorites like FlipDaddy’s and Jersey Mike’s.
The Sporting Clays Tournament adds something unique to Stepping Stones’ event calendar.
“We wanted to do something different — outside the norm,” said event co-chair and Stepping Stones’ board member Brian Folke. “You can bring your own shotgun or rent one at the club,” he continued. “If you’ve never done this before, this is a great time to try it out! Elk Creek is beautiful. In the spring, all the hills and ridges are in bloom. It’s a great time to be outdoors with friends.”
Similar to a golf tournament, the Sporting Clays Tournament will host teams of four – shooting clay targets with 12 or 20-gauge shotguns. Elk Creek Hunt Club is a world-class sporting clays resort with multiple ranges and over 2,500 wooded acres. Two 14-station ranges will be in play for the Stepping Stones tournament. The event will begin with registration and training at 10 am, followed by lunch and a shot-gun start at 11:30 am. After the clay shoot, guests will convene at the lodge for food, drinks and awards at 3:30 pm.
