Pizza Hut Spreads Holiday Cheer in Cincinnati!
Donning Santa hats and bearing gifts that ranged from a microwave to a fish tank, Pizza Hut managers granted holiday wishes in December to four families with individuals that attend Stepping Stones’ programs.Since 2016, Greater Cincinnati’s Pizza Hut franchisee CFL Pizza has raised more than $35,000 for Stepping Stones. The holiday gift exchange and festive deliveries was a way for Pizza Hut managers to continue our partnership and spread holiday cheer through the Stepping Stones’ community.
The generosity of the Pizza Hut employees provided a full spread of presents under the families’ Christmas trees! Among the gifts were clothes, shoes, bed linens, a toaster, DVD players, movies and grocery store gift cards to purchase all the fixings for their holiday meals.
“We were thrilled to be able to fulfill the wishes of the four incredible families,” said Lisa Webster, CFL Pizza Director of Operations. “Their requests were very simple – nothing extravagant or expensive.”
The holiday gift-giving rounded out a full year of fundraising and on-site volunteering by CFL Pizza employees, including a successful spring fundraising drive that invited customers to add a donation to Stepping Stones onto their orders. Pizza Hut staff also joined Stepping Stones participants for pizza-making sessions, spent a day spreading mulch at one of our four campuses and donated pizzas for staff and participants at numerous events throughout the year.
“We love interacting with the participants, watching them work to fullest capacity,” Webster said. “We walk from our volunteer opportunities feeling really, really good. It’s the participants who keep us coming back. They are amazing.”
