Pizza Hut Supports Stepping Stones with Time, Talent and Treasure

Greater Cincinnati Pizza Hut stores have supported Stepping Stones’ programs for people with disabilities with their time, talent and treasure in 2018.

Eight-Week Fundraiser Raises $16,000

In late March, CFL Pizza, LLC’s thirty Greater Cincinnati Pizza Hut stores kicked-off an eight-week fundraising campaign that invited the Tri-State community to add $1, $3, $5 and $10 donations onto in-store and phone orders.

Getting in the spirit of the campaign, stores got creative with their fundraising initiatives.

The Colerain Pizza Hut hosted a large bake sale, selling a variety of sweets to support Stepping Stones – including gourmet cheesecakes, buckeyes, truffles and more. The bake sale was such a hit, it inspired other stores to join in and host bake sales of their own.

To raise donations, the Versailles Pizza Hut sold beautifully hand-crafted beaded bracelets to customers in exchange for a gift to Stepping Stones.

The spring fundraising campaign was a great success, raising $16,000 to support Stepping Stones and spread awareness of our programs for people with disabilities throughout Greater Cincinnati.

On July 11, franchisee CFL Pizza, LLC presents Stepping Stones with $16,000 to benefit programs for children, teens and adults with disabilities. The large donation was the result of 30 Greater Cincinnati Pizza Hut stores hosting an eight-week fundraising campaign.

Volunteering At Stepping Stones

In addition to their fundraising efforts, Greater Cincinnati Pizza Hut managers and district leaders also donated their time by volunteering at Stepping Stones.

On May 3, a team of volunteers spent their day leveling gravel and constructing benches at Camp Allyn in Batavia, Ohio. The new space creates a quiet, peaceful retreat for participants to relax in during Summer Overnight Staycations and Weekend Respites through the school-year.

Trimming hedges, spreading mulch and planting flowers, another crew from Pizza Hut spent June 27 beautifying the grounds of our UCP Campus in Norwood.

This summer, Pizza Hut volunteers also joined us at Summer Day Camp on four occasions. Joining campers at our Given Campus in Indian Hill, they bonded with our campers as they joined them in creating fun galaxy-themed art projects, sifting for gold in sensory and catching fish on the docks.

Pizza Hut Kitchens Welcome Participants

In May, the Amelia, Colerain and Norwood Pizza Hut stores opened their doors to welcome participants of Stepping Stones’ three Adult Day program locations. As honorary store managers, participants toured the pizza kitchens, learned about the daily operations of running the business and made their own personal pizzas.

On each visit, the staff of Pizza Hut went above and beyond to make our participants feel incredibly welcome. They greeted the adults upon arrival with personalized welcome signs, balloons, name tags and even official Pizza Hut hats.
