Meet Terri Seurkamp Hogan – Stepping Stones Supporter

Terri Seurkamp Hogan has been a longtime, dedicated supporter of Stepping Stones. She currently serves on the board of trustees and has been a Bloom committee member for many years, chairing the event in 2017.  She served as the auction chair in 2022 and is doing so again for the 2023 event.

Terri’s support for Stepping Stones began when her son Bayley was diagnosed with Autism at 2 ½ years old. They were overwhelmed with how to proceed and began looking at programs for Bayley when he was 3 ½. That’s when Terri learned about Stepping Stones and she is thankful that their programs have helped to put Bayley on the positive path that he is on today.

One of Terri’s biggest personal accomplishments is helping her son, Bayley, find his voice. Terri attended multiple classes and presentations to learn all that she could. She knew that Bayley had a voice and was determined that it would be heard. Bayley said his first words, “Mama, green train” when he was 4 years old.

Since her son’s diagnosis, Terri has been passionate about helping those with diverse abilities. One of Terri’s biggest professional accomplishments was establishing the “Intern Program” as the CEO of Contemporary Cabinetry East. In partnership with Heidt Center for Excellence, students came and worked as a group in the shop making items, helping with wood projects or learning about graphic design. Terri was invited by Congressman Steve Chabot to address a Congressional Subcommittee in D.C. focused on small businesses. This was a result of Terri’s work with inclusion while she was the CEO at Contemporary Cabinetry East.

Terri has received numerous awards for her philanthropic work including The Climb Award for inspired hiring from the Cincinnati Business Courier, John Barret’s Entrepreneur Award, the President’s Award from the Autism Society, Visionaries and Voices Visionary Award, Inclusion Award from Advancement and Transition Services at the University of Cincinnati and the Community Volunteer Award from Applied Behavioral Sciences.

In addition to her philanthropic work, Terri greatly values time spent with her two children, Heidi who is 42 and Bayley who is now 24. Terri grew up in Hyde Park in a family of 8 kids. Terri loves to cheer on the Cincinnati Reds and she enjoys musical theatre, dancing, hiking, walking, decorating and gardening.
