Former Camp Allyn Counselor’s Novel “Range of Motion”

A former Camp Allyn counselor, Brian Trapp, recently wrote a novel titled Range of Motion. It is partly inspired by his experience as a counselor at Camp Allyn and growing up alongside his twin brother Danny who had cerebral palsy. The first part of the book takes place at camp for individuals with disabilities that is modeled after Camp Allyn and another camp in Northeast Ohio, Camp Cheerful.
Since his time at Camp Allyn, Brian has received his PhD in English and Disability Studies at the University of Cincinnati and he is now the director of Disability Studies Program at the University of Oregon.
