“Families will see a respite in progress and have the same dinner we serve at the respite,” said Amanda “Dottie” Dotson, coordinator of recreation and leisure programs at Camp Allyn.

Stepping Stones respites run from 6 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Sunday, two weekends a month. Individuals can stay the whole weekend or just one night. A bevy of new classes have just been introduced, making the respites more fun than ever. Safety measures include one-on-one aides, on-site nurses during waking hours and food-service professionals to handle dietary needs.

The open house includes dinner, a tour of the site and meetings with staff. Families are encouraged to bring their teens or adults with developmental disabilities so they can see a Stepping Stones respite in action.

Register for the November 9 Open House by calling Amanda Kay at 513-965-5114.
