Stepping Stones has summer job openings in our Overnight Staycation program at Camp Allyn in Batavia, Ohio.
WHAT IS AN OVERNIGHT STAYCATION?Overnight Staycations welcome teens and adults with disabilities for adventurous five-day summer retreats. The program includes a variety of skill-building activities as well as favorites like swimming, archery, boating and fishing. In the evenings, everyone participates in game nights, cookouts, dances, talent shows and more.

ABOUT OUR TEAM
Stepping Stones is proud of our long history providing valuable, paid field work experiences for students pursuing future careers in health sciences, social work, special education, therapeutic recreation or another related field. We are an enthusiastic team who believes in celebrating all abilities and cultivating an inclusive community.

WHEN YOU’LL BE WORKING
In the Summer, we operate eight 5-day sessions that run from early June into August. Our staff team works Sunday afternoon through checkout on Thursday afternoon.
FIELD WORK EXPERIENCE YOU’LL GAIN
- Planning and executing adaptive recreation activities for multiple age groups with disabilities
- State and local documentation — reporting on participant progress on personal goals
- Enhancing different forms of communication skills — including ASL, visual aides and iPad applications
- Leading and supervising participants while coordinating with other staff on a collaborative team
- Providing an inclusive space that supports participant needs
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- First Aid & CPR certification at no cost to you
- Lifeguard Applicants: Lifeguard Certification
- HOLIDAY BREAK: Fourth of July week off
- Summer housing and all of your meals are provided
- Fridays and Saturdays off

Summer Overnight Camp Job Openings
PROGRAM DATES: Eight 5-day sessions starting June 1st and ending July 31st. Staff receive week off between sessions four and five for a holiday break.
PROGRAM HOURS: Sunday afternoon through Thursday afternoon
AGES SERVED: Participants are age 16 to 65 years old
Work Requirements:
- Passionate and outgoing individual wanting to improve the lives of others
- Ability to thrive in a creative team environment
- Comfortable traveling across a large outdoor campus throughout the day
- Must be at least 18 years of age, with high school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to successfully complete all background check requirements
- Ability to successfully complete all online and in-person training
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBs
- Availability to work through July
