Stepping Stones to Put on 21st Annual Golf Classic

Stepping Stones will host the 2022 Golf Classic on Monday, June 6 at the O’Bannon Creek Golf Club in Loveland. The morning flight will tee off at 8 a.m. and the afternoon flight will tee off at 1 p.m. Stepping Stones and event chair Steve Mennen invite you to enjoy a beautiful day with exciting hole challenges, course tastings, premier raffle prizes and more.

The Golf Classic benefits Stepping Stones’ mission to build pathways to independence and promote inclusion for people with developmental and physical disabilities. Show your support by starting a team or becoming a sponsor; spots are limited! Following the afternoon flight, golfers will relax in the clubhouse where food and drink will be provided and awards will be handed out for top golfers and the day’s winning teams.

“Stepping Stones plays such an integral role in our community,” said event chair Steve Mennen. “Funds raised from the Golf Classic go a long way to support their much-needed programs for people with disabilities.”

Event tickets are $200 for a single and $800 for a foursome. The O’Bannon Creek Golf Club is located at 6842 Oakland Road in Loveland, Ohio. The Golf Classic Nets More than $82K for Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones’ 18th annual Golf Classic was presented by Niagara Bottling and netted more than $82,500 for programs serving individuals with disabilities.

On Monday, June 10, tournament chair Steve Mennen welcomed more than 180 guests at O’Bannon Creek Golf Club for a beautiful day of golf and surprises. The golf outing featured both a morning and afternoon flight, as well as exciting hole challenges for the opportunity to win luxury prizes, course tastings, a premier raffle and more.

The day began with delicious breakfast burritos by Vital Farms before golfers teed off in the morning flight. On the course, players competed to win longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests while enjoying a variety of course tastings, including fresh mimosas! Following the morning flight, golfers returned to the clubhouse for live-music by musician Edward Liu and a delicious lunch provided by The Beerded Pig food truck.

During the afternoon flight, the fun continued with 27 teams competing to win course contests and enjoying craft beer tastings by 50 West Brewing Co. and Graeter’s ice cream. Mid-way through the afternoon flight, golfers were delighted by the arrival of Palermo’s Screamin’ Sicilian pizza. The food truck kindly traveled all the way from Wisconsin to support the event.

Thank You for the Support

After all afternoon flight teams completed their round of golf, everyone relaxed in the clubhouse with a seated dinner that included award announcements and raffle drawings. Golf Classic event chair and Stepping Stones’ board member Steve Mennen also thanked the day’s guests for their thoughtful support of our programs serving individuals with disabilities.

“It’s hard for me to describe the benefit Stepping Stones has in the community – it’s phenomenal,” shared Mennen. “The way the organization functions and the strength of their programs is really a wonderful thing to witness. We are so thankful for your support!”

When Stepping Stones hits the green this June for the 2016 Golf Classic, presented by Niagara Bottling, there are two all-expense paid trip packages added to the exciting list of prizes. Hyundai has joined Stepping Stones as the exclusive automotive event sponsor and will give two winners an unforgettable premier golf experience this fall at the Hyundai Invitational National Final.

With Hyundai as a sponsor, the Golf Classic is one of 50 exclusive Hyundai Invitational events in the country for the second year in a row. The 2015 Golf Classic, presented by Niagara, was a great success! On June 8, 150 golfers hit the green for morning and afternoon flights at O’Bannon Creek Golf Club in Loveland.

This year, Stepping Stones was thrilled to be one of 50 Hyundai Invitational events. With Hyundai as our exclusive automotive sponsor, two winners, Dave Wurtenberger and Ken Heil, are invited to compete in the Hyundai Invitational National Final in Las Vegas!

Despite a threatening forecast, the rain stayed at bay – making it perfect weather for our golfers! Off the green, golfers browsed a wide selection of raffle items and enjoyed delicious food, courtesy of our generous meal sponsors: Presto/Reynolds and The Austin E. Knowlton Foundation. First Watch started the day with fresh yogurt parfaits, and A Catered Affair served a delicious taco bar for lunch. The evening concluded with awards and a sit-down dinner of prime rib and chicken marsala. It was an all around fantastic event, in support of Stepping Stones’ year-round programs for people with disabilities.
