I am happy to introduce you all to Allysa Babb-the Program Supervisor at the Allyn Campus!

This is Allysa’s first summer with us but she has spent the past two years with us during the Fall/Winter/Spring seasons! Her first year she was a counselor at Weekend Respites, this past year she was a supervisor at Respites, and now she’s the Program Supervisor for both our Summer Day Camp and our Overnight Staycations!

Allysa attends Bowling Green State University and is currently coming up on her senior year. She is earning her degree as an Intervention Specialist. After her graduation she plans to continue working with individuals with disabilities as a special education teacher.

When asked what made her want to work with Stepping Stones during the summer, Allysa said that she has just had so much fun during the Respite seasons that she really wanted to experience the summer. With Respites only running from Friday through Sunday she enjoyed the idea of being able to get to know participants that much more with the 6 day sessions during the summer and with day camp.  Her favorite evening programs are the Talent Shows! She loves that it’s a time where all the participants get to shine and it’s one of those evening programs that everyone always enjoys! Her favorite performances are when lodges perform as a group because it’s always fun to see them bond with each other and having fun!

When asked what the best part of being a summer supervisor is, Allysa said that the best part has been getting to know the participants who only come in summer and how great it has been to build those new relationships and rekindle previous ones!

Some other fun facts about Allysa are that her favorite color is purple, her favorite camp meal is anything with cheese, and a fun fact about her is that she has a very beloved fish whose name is Sampson!

We are so happy that Allysa is the Program supervisor this summer–she does a great job ensuring that all activities and events at Allyn campus are not only safe, but super fun, engaging and are enjoyed by each and every participant!
