Planting the Seed to Wellness

In the heart of Norwood, a garden is blossoming with fresh vegetables this spring. The gardening project is a new addition to Stepping Stones’ Adult Day Service program, shared Manager Amanda Kay.

At Stepping Stones, adults with disabilities are developing more than just a green thumb. Participants are building independence through learning about and planting fresh vegetables and herbs to be used in their favorite recipes.

The vegetable garden has newly built raised garden beds, constructed by Eagle Scout Troop 977 of Anderson Township. The raised beds provide height for program participants to comfortably plant an assortment of fresh produce, including: romaine lettuce, Swiss chard, tomatoes, peppers and fresh herbs.

We hope this is where you feel your support needs to be!

In Adult Day Services, 185 adults with developmental disabilities are building independent living skills, discovering their abilities and exploring the community. This is one of the life-changing programs Stepping Stones offers to more than 1,000 people with disabilities in Greater Cincinnati.
