Stepping Stones Hosts Fall Food Drive

In the spirit of giving thanks and giving back to our local community, Stepping Stones’ Adult Day program participants organized a fall food drive to stop hunger in Greater Cincinnati!Adopting the mantra ‘One Can Make a Difference’, participants of our UCP Campus Adult Day program coordinated with local businesses RCL Benziger, Kroger and Whole Foods to distribute cloth bags throughout the community.
Through phone calls and flyers, a bounty of donations were received – making the fall food drive a tremendous success! Norwood and Northwest Schools, St. James Athletic Club and Volleyball tea, the Norwood Fire Department, Access drivers and First State Bank all joined Stepping Stones in collecting donations for the food drive. As well, staff and families from all four Stepping Stones program locations made contributions.
On Friday, November 18th, all of the food donations were gathered into multiple car loads and participants made a special delivery to the food pantry at Zion United Church of Christ, located in Norwood. Bags upon bags of canned soups and vegetables, pasta, cereal, peanut butter and other nonperishable food items were hand delivered by our smiling participants. With great support, our food drive donation was able to fill up an entire room at the food pantry and promises to truly make a difference in the Norwood community throughout the holiday season.
We extend a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the fall food drive! Together, we proved that one can truly make a difference and are working to build a better community. Thank you and happy holidays!
