The Adults Around Town program celebrated the end of a successful season with a Sock Hop dance.

To celebrate the end of a successful season of outings, our Adults Around Town program put on their dancing shoes for a traditional sock hop dance! The spring event was held in the gymnasium of our UCP Campus in Norwood and featured a live DJ, refreshments and crafting station.

Getting in the spirit of the occasion, many participants came dressed to impress in poodle skirts and leather jackets. Hitting the dance floor, they showed off their moves to music from the Golden Oldies.

From Elvis to Diana Ross and the Grease soundtrack, everyone enjoyed listening to their classic favorites while dancing and mingling with friends.

Participants were also able to take a break from their dancing to visit the craft station. In the art activity, they made necklaces out of classic vinyl records that were decorated with glitter and flare.

An End-of-Season Celebration

The Sock Hop dance marked the conclusion of the Adults Around Town season. In this recreation program, individuals age 18 and above with disabilities visit local attractions on social outings around Greater Cincinnati. The program runs from September through April with two outings scheduled every month.

The spring dance was an opportunity for participants to gather in celebration at our UCP campus before the program goes on hiatus for the summer camp season.
