To provide leadership and a level of support for participants with developmental disabilities, we’re currently recruiting a licensed Intervention Specialist as well as multiple Direct Support Professionals.

Licensed Intervention Specialist – Step-Up

Stepping Stones’ Step-Up Autism Alternative Education program provides an individualized education for students with autism. In this unique program, we partner with multiple local school districts to provide an optimal learning environment for those unable to succeed in a traditional classroom setting. 

We are now accepting applications for a licensed Intervention Specialist to join our Step-Up team! Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and coursework that meet curriculum guidelines set by local school districts and the Ohio Extended Learning Standards.

Additional responsibilities of the Intervention Specialist include:

  • Maintaining classroom discipline, organization and structure 
  • Providing intervention as needed to support student behavioral and emotional needs
  • Communicating professionally with parents, related service providers and local school districts
  • Assisting school psychologists with development of ETRs
  • Training and managing educational aides who provide classroom support
  • Completing IEPs for all students and conducting routine assessments to evaluate each student’s progress
  • Administer Ohio Alternative Assessment as needed
  • Maintaining all necessary professional licensure and certifications
  • Managing classroom supplies and materials at an appropriate level

WORK HOURS:
Full-time position working weekdays throughout the year

WORK LOCATION: Given Campus — 5650 Given Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45243

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
  • Current Intervention Specialist licensure from the State of Ohio
  • Ability to develop meaningful lesson plans that support student goals and meet curriculum guidelines
  • Ability to work closely with educational aides and other support staff
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
COMPENSATION: Salaried position offering $35,000 – $50,000 annually, dependent on experience

Direct Support Professional – Adult Day Services

Stepping Stones’ Adult Day Services offers an enriching program opportunity for adults with disabilities!

Participants arrive in the morning and connect with a group of their peers over a variety of engaging recreation activities. Members of our Direct Care team gain leadership skills while providing supervision and directing participants through art, technology, wellness and other program projects.

Recreation Coordinator

Every weekend throughout the school-year, Stepping Stones operates a variety of recreation programs for children, teens and adults with disabilities. These programs extend into the summer months as well were they take the form of our signature day and overnight camps. 

To coordinate and facilitate programs for different age groups, we are expanding our team and now hiring an experienced Recreation Coordinator! This role will support the agency in continuing to provide inclusive and safe program experiences for the individuals we are so fortunate to serve. 

REQUIREMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. CTRS or CPRP certification preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in recreation/camp program development as well as in staff training and supervision
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning and facilitation of programs while following established standards and best practices
  • Responsible for developing and implementing age-appropriate activities that are adaptable to suit all abilities
  • Create and foster a strong sense of teamwork and cooperation while providing assistance to seasonal and part-time staff
  • Must be highly motivated with detailed organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Must have strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • A current driver’s license is required as well as the ability to commute to various program locations
  • Must be able to maintain certification in CPR & First Aid as well as Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 75 LBs and squat/kneel on occasion as needed
WORK HOURS: This is a full-time opening that requires evenings, weekend and summer hours

COMPENSATION: Salaried position starting at $35,000 annually
