Lets have a warm round of applause for our Staycation Supervisor Stacey Burrell!

This is Stacey’s 3rd year at camp! Her first year she was a Counselor, last year she was a Lodge Lead, and now she’s a Supervisor!

Stacey attends the University of Pittsburgh  currently coming up on her senior year and is double majoring in both Psychology and Administration of Justice. After her graduation she plans on interning with the police force for a year before attending graduate school for Cognitive Psychology.
Her life goals are to become a forensic psychologist who is also a New York Times Best Selling Author by the age of 30 and a professor at the University of Pittsburgh by the age of 50!

When asked what brought her back to camp, Stacey immediately said that participants are what keep bringing her back year after year; according to her they are ‘awesome sauce.’ Her favorite evening program is hands down the weekly dance; it’s a time where everyone on camp gets together and, without fail, EVERYONE has a blast. Her favorite song at camp dances is ‘”Don’t Stop Believin” by Journey  because just about every time it plays there isn’t a single person who isn’t completely rocking out to the inspirational song that it is! Her favorite action dance song is the chicken dance.

When asked what the most pleasant surprise for her has been now that she is a supervisor, Stacey said how much her past experiences could be of use not just to her but to everyone she works with. She loves that her experience as both a counselor and a lead can help others in the same position learn and grow!

Some other fun facts about Stacey are that her favorite color is red, her favorite camp meal is a toss up between tacos and nachos, and a fun fact about her is that she has an extra tooth that she has named it Bertha!

We are so happy that Stacey is the Staycation supervisor this summer. She does a great job ensuring that everyone at the Allyn campus is safe, having fun, and feels like part of the community!
