A Patriotic Barbecue at Summer Camp-Given!

Date posted: July 7, 2015

G’day Everyone!

Last Thursday, July 2nd, we celebrated Independence Day a couple of days early with our annual barbecue and dance! The volunteer group, Resurgent Capital Services, kindly donated their time and hundreds of hot dogs, hamburgers, cake and watermelon! It was a feast fit for camp! They arrived early in the day to begin grilling, and the smells coming from the pavilion were amazing, to say the least!

We didn’t let the rain dampen our patriotism on this day! Our kid groups held their picnics on blankets in the gym and our teen groups camped out in the pavilion at picnic tables! Once everyone was done eating, we held a dance party for the teen groups! DJ Ed, our critically acclaimed DJ at Stepping Stones, played some rockin’ music that inspired everyone to break-dance, group dance and create many, many conga lines around the pavilion! It was such a blast to see everyone smiling and enjoying themselves in this special way! We are very grateful to the volunteers who made this event possible! Here are a few pictures from the day for you to enjoy!
