Chicago Is Our Kind of Town

Date posted: August 27, 2014

I recently returned from wrapping up my summer with a great trip to Chicago, Illinois. What made this trip so great was that I took 45 great friends, both staff and participants, with me!

We travelled to the Great Windy City in a Travel America bus. We owe a lot of thanks to Jay and John for keeping us safe, chauffeuring us around and having a great time alongside of us!  They helped us criss cross the city and see all of the sights!

We went to a lot of great places, like the Kane County Cougars’ ball game where we watched the Cougars win and ate some delicious ball park food. We also went to all of the typical tourist spots like Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry, Willis Tower’s SkyDeck, Navy Pier and Millienium Park. We enjoyed amazing Chicago eateries, like Portillo’s Hot Dogs, Giordano’s Pizzeria and Bubba Gump’s Shrimp. Each of these delicious restaurants treated us so well and served us so much great tasting food. We even met Forrest Gump at Bubba Gump’s Shrimp. He was so friendly and welcoming to our big group!

The hospitality that greeted us at each of these places was phenomenal. We were treated not just as guests, but welcomed as friends. I have to post some pictures here so you all can see how much fun we had! I cannot wait to return to this welcoming and exciting city someday! Thank you to everyone who participated and everyone who greeted us, as you made this an unforgettable trip!
