stepping-stones-indian-hill-volunteers-cincinnati (4)140 fifth graders from Indian Hill Elementary School volunteered at Stepping Stones as their end-of-school-year philanthropic project. Principal Melisssa Stewart joined the students and their teachers as the group helped Stepping Stones prepare for the summer Day Camp for children with disabilities.

Student volunteers helped assemble activity packs for the campers, compiled information booklets, created tissue paper flowers to decorate an upcoming luau party, cleaned picnic benches and dusted cob webs in the camp shelters.

Parent Cecily Harness organized the event. Her husband, Bob Harness, was a Stepping Stones volunteer for years. “He loved volunteering and we love Stepping Stones,” Mrs. Harness said.
“The kids will be graduating from elementary school and they’re going to be doing volunteer hours in the upper grades. We thought it would be good to see and understand how you can help the community,” she said.
