Stepping Stones has a variety of summer day camp job openings for those looking for a rewarding experience during their summer break! Members of our Summer Day Camp team are enthusiastic individuals who believe in celebrating all abilities and cultivating an inclusive community.
ABOUT OUR TEAM
We are proud of our long history of providing valuable, field work experience for college students pursuing future careers in Special Education, Social Work, Therapeutic Recreation, Nursing and other related majors. Others come to us without prior experience in the field — and that’s okay!
Our camp community welcomes staff from all backgrounds and our training program provides staff with all the tools and information they need to perform they’re role well.
WHEN YOU’LL BE WORKING:
- Day Camp runs weekdays through August 1, 2025 (Camp closed 7/4 for holiday break)
- Shift time is approximately 8:15 am – 4 pm
- Planning and executing adaptive recreation activities for ages 5-18 with disabilities
- Exposure to IEPs
- Documentation for the State of Ohio and local officials
- Leading small groups of campers while navigating through a daily activity schedule
- Providing an inclusive space that supports campers’ needs
- Risk assessment and conflict resolution
- First Aid & CPR certification at no cost to you
- Lifeguard Applicants: Lifeguard Certification

Summer Day Camp Job Openings
LOCATION: Given Campus — 5650 Given Road, Cincinnati, OH 45243
WORK DATES: Weekdays from early June into August
WORK HOURS: ~ 8:15 am — 4 pm
AGES SERVED: Campers are age 5 through 18 years old
DAY CAMP UNIT COUNSELOR
Responsibilities include camper engagement and personal care; following safety guidelines; documentation paperwork; assistance to Unit Leader in all group tasks; behavior intervention as needed.
DAY CAMP ACTIVITY SPECIALIST
Responsibilities include planning and leading activities (i.e. art, music, sports, nature, sensory); adapting activities to meet camper abilities; daily preparation and clean-up of activity materials; assisting with participant care, ensuring safety and completing documentation paperwork.
DAY CAMP LIFEGUARD
Responsible for maintaining safety at outdoor swimming pool and waterfront areas that are used for fishing and boating. Must be a strong swimmer. Prior experience preferred but Stepping Stones will cover cost of certification if not yet certified.
DAY CAMP ADVISOR
Responsibilities include providing training and leadership to other day camp staff, maintaining safety and quality care, accurate and timely completion of assigned documentation, implementing efficient pick-up and drop-off protocols and performing emergency response and behavior intervention as needed. (Must be age 18+)
DAY CAMP VOLUNTEER ADVISOR
Responsible for planning and leading volunteer training, managing and placing volunteers on a day-to-day basis, processing volunteer applications, record-keeping and coaching unit staff to better utilize volunteers. This position required a great deal of organization and time management. (Must be age 18+)

Work Requirements:
- Age 16+ years of age — with high school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to successfully complete all background check requirements
- Ability to successfully complete all online and in-person training
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBs
- Availability to work through August 3, 2025 — with exception of the long holiday weekend (July 4)
