Stepping Stones has full-time job opening available for licensed Intervention Specialist and multiple Educational Aides to work in our autism alternative education program in Cincinnati, Ohio.Stepping Stones’ Step Up Autism Alternative Education program is growing!


We are now hiring a licensed Intervention Specialist and Educational Aides to support students in successfully navigating their academic studies in an optimal learning environment. 

In our unique Step Up program, Stepping Stones partner with local school districts throughout Greater Cincinnati to provide an individualized education where students who struggled in a traditional classroom setting excel.

Students step out of their home district and attend classes at our scenic Given Campus in Indian Hill. The 23-acre property offers a sensory-friendly environment with abundant wildlife, accessible hiking trails, a lake for waterfront activities, gardening spaces and even an outdoor pool for swimming in the summer months.

• LICENSED INTERVENTION SPECIALIST •

Reporting to the Educational Services Director, Stepping Stones is now hiring a licensed Intervention Specialist to prepare coursework for students that meets curriculum guidelines and the Ohio Extended Learning Standards.

  • Communicate professionally and effectively with multiple school districts, providers, aides and parents.
  • Plan meaningful lessons that meet student IEP goals and Ohio Extended Learning Standards.
  • Assist school psychologist with the development of an ETR.
  • Administer Ohio Alternative Assessment as needed.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of all documents and student information.
  • Monitor and report progress on student IEP goals and objectives, monthly.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative relationship with educational aides through modeling and corrective feedback.
  • Provide behavior prevention and intervention as needed.
  • Maintain classroom supplies and materials at an appropriate level.
  • Provide continued training and direction for Educational Aides.

WORK HOURS:
Full-time position working weekdays throughout the year

LOCATION: Given Campus — 5650 Given Road, Cincinnati, OH, 45243

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
  • Current Intervention Specialist licensure from the State of Ohio
  • Ability to develop meaningful lesson plans that support student goals and meet curriculum guidelines
  • Ability to work closely with educational aides and other support staff
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
COMPENSATION: Salaried position starting at $50,000 annually, dependent on experience

• EDUCATIONAL AIDES •

Under the guidance of our Educational Services Director and licensed Intervention Specialists, we’re also hiring 1:1 Educational Aides. Gain leadership experience while delivering instruction on academic, self-care daily living, recreation and self-regulation skills. 

BENEFITS:

WORK HOURS: Monday – Friday, approximately 8:15 am – 2:45 pm

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to successfully complete criminal background checks
  • Ability to complete all required trainings 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to walk continuously for extended periods of time, in and outdoors as needed
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong communications skills
  • History of excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Understanding of autism is beneficial, but not required

COMPENSATION:
